The 30th National Academic Conference on Automation Application Technologies in 2025 Was Successfully Held.
The 30th National Academic Conference on Automation Application Technologies 2025 and the 2nd High‑End Forum on Digital Development in the Iron and Steel Industry 2025, among many other prominent industry events, were successfully held in Rizhao City, Shandong Province. Spearheaded by leading industry authorities and meticulously prepared over several months, the conference brought together more than 300 experts, scholars, and research personnel from universities, enterprises, and research institutes across the country.
From May 14 to 15, a series of prominent industry events—including the “2025 30th National Academic Conference on Automation Application Technologies” and the “2nd (2025) High‑End Forum on Digital Development in the Iron and Steel Industry”—were successfully held in Rizhao City, Shandong Province. Spearheaded by leading industry authorities and meticulously prepared over several months, the conference brought together more than 300 experts, scholars, and researchers from universities, enterprises, and research institutions across the country.
The conference features two major sub‑forums on steel and non‑ferrous metals, where 14 experts from industry leaders and top universities share insights on cutting‑edge trends in automation technology. Among them, a professor from a leading university’s presentation on “A Synergistic Development Path for Industrial Automation and Decarbonization” sparked intense discussion and offered new perspectives for the industry’s green transformation.
During the conference, China Iron & Steel Research Institute Group unveiled the nation’s first industry‑specific intelligent perception large model — the “Metallurgical Process Perception Large Model.” Addressing the challenges of metallurgical process sensing, this model adopts a dual‑tower architecture comprising a “Perception‑Awareness Large Model” and a “Knowledge‑Awareness Large Model,” coupled with a proprietary OTS mechanism to achieve multi‑scale perception spanning from the microscopic to the macroscopic. In practical applications, it can monitor blast furnace smelting parameters in real time, accurately predict equipment failures, and significantly enhance both production efficiency and safety.
At the conference, the head of China Iron & Steel Research Institute Group stated that the group is accelerating the development of a comprehensive steel large-model technology ecosystem and focusing on building four major technology clusters. In the future, it will work hand in hand with industry partners to jointly establish a new industrial intelligence system and drive the steel industry toward higher-end development. This series of conferences has created a platform for in-depth exchanges among industry, academia, and research institutions; its outcomes will inject strong momentum into the digital and intelligent transformation of China’s automation sector, helping to propel industrial upgrading and leapfrog development.
